Billing and subscriptions

Cancelling or changing your plan

Cancel at any time from the billing portal and keep access to the end of the paid period. Upgrade or downgrade between plans from Settings → Plan.

Updated 13 October 2026

Cancelling

  1. Open Settings → Plan and choose Manage billing. This opens the Stripe-hosted billing portal.
  2. Choose Cancel subscription and confirm.
  3. Your plan stays active until the end of the current paid period. No further payment is taken.
  4. At the end of the period the organisation moves to a read-only state: you can sign in, open cases and export documents, but not add new material or run the Case Agent.

Cancellation is recorded in the audit trail with who did it and when. Only the organisation owner can cancel.

Refunds

The refund and cancellation policy (draft) is linked in the footer and is being finalised for review before checkout opens. Until it is approved, this article does not state refund terms.

Upgrading

Choose the new plan under Settings → Plan. The difference for the rest of the current period is handled by Stripe, and your new allowances apply immediately.

Downgrading

Choose the smaller plan. It takes effect at the end of the current period. If your usage is above the new plan's allowance (for example more active cases or more team members than it includes), the application tells you what to archive or remove before the change can complete.

Exporting before you leave

You can export a case's documents, timeline and confirmed findings at any time. After cancellation, data is kept for the retention period described in the privacy notice and then deleted, subject to any legal hold.

Reactivating

Within the retention period, subscribing again restores full access to your organisation and cases.
