Billing and subscriptions

Subscribing through Stripe checkout

Payment is taken through Stripe's hosted checkout from inside the application. Your subscription becomes active when Stripe confirms the payment to LexSalim, not when you see a success page.

Status

Stripe checkout opens together with the LexSalim application. Until then, the Get started page lets you compare plans and register interest; nothing is charged and no payment details are collected on the website.

How checkout works

  1. Choose a plan on the Get started page or in the application under Settings → Plan.
  2. Sign in to the application (or create your account; see Creating an account).
  3. The application opens Stripe Checkout, a secure payment page hosted by Stripe. Enter your payment details there. LexSalim never sees your full card number.
  4. After payment, Stripe returns you to LexSalim.
  5. Stripe separately confirms the payment to the LexSalim application. Your plan becomes active when that confirmation arrives, usually within seconds.

The success page you see after paying is informational. The application's billing page is the source of truth for whether a subscription is active.

Receipts and invoices

Stripe emails a receipt for each payment. Invoices, payment methods and billing details are managed through the billing portal, reached from Settings → Plan → Manage billing, which opens a page hosted by Stripe.

If the plan does not activate

Do not pay again. Wait a few minutes, refresh the billing page, and if the plan still shows as inactive contact support from the email address you used at checkout, quoting the receipt.

Security

  • Payment details are entered only on Stripe-hosted pages.
  • The application acts only on payment events it has verified as genuinely coming from Stripe; a browser arriving at a success page proves nothing by itself.
  • Billing changes are recorded in the organisation's audit trail.
