Inviting team members

Owners and admins invite people by email. Invitations are single-use, give the member role unless an admin role is chosen, and only work for the invited address.

Early access

The LexSalim application is opening in stages and is not yet available for public sign-in. This article describes how the workspace is designed to work for early-access members; wording and screens may change before general release.

Before you start

  • You need the owner or admin role in the organisation.
  • Your plan includes a team-member allowance. The Starter plan is for a single user; Professional and Practice include a small team and a team respectively, and Enterprise is custom. The application tells you if an invitation would exceed your allowance.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Members and choose Invite.
  2. Enter the person's email address.
  3. Choose a role: Member (default) or Admin. Inviting an admin asks for a fresh authenticator check. The owner role cannot be invited.
  4. Send. The person receives an invitation email.

What the invitee does

They register (or sign in) with the same email address the invitation was sent to. The invitation is offered at the end of registration or on their next sign-in. Someone with a different address cannot accept it, and each invitation can be accepted once.

After they join

They can see the organisation but no cases until they are added to one. Open the case, go to its members, and add them. See Organisations, roles and permissions.

Cancelling an invitation

Pending invitations are listed under Settings → Members. Cancel one at any time; the link in the email stops working.

Tips for practices

  • Give clients the member role and add them only to their own case.
  • Use the admin role sparingly; admins can manage people, and that is logged.
  • Review the members list when someone leaves. Removing them from the organisation removes their access to every case at once.
