The LexSalim application is opening in stages and is not yet available for public sign-in. This article describes how the workspace is designed to work for early-access members; wording and screens may change before general release.
Accepted files
| Type | Examples | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Contracts, letters, statements, scanned bundles | Text PDFs are read directly; scanned PDFs are processed page by page. | |
| Images | JPEG, PNG and similar photographs or scans | Optical character recognition converts them to text. Good lighting and a flat page help accuracy. |
| Office documents | Word, Excel and PowerPoint style files and their open equivalents | Converted to text with structure kept where possible. |
| Email exports | Messages exported from a mail client | Headers (from, to, date, subject) are kept as metadata; attachments inside the export are processed as separate documents where supported. |
If a file type is not accepted, the upload screen says so before anything is stored.
Malware scanning
Every file is scanned on arrival. A file that fails the scan is rejected and never written to the vault. You will see "rejected" against the file with a short reason. If you believe a rejection is wrong, contact support; do not attempt to re-upload a file that was flagged.
Text extraction and page references
Extraction keeps page references, which is what allows a finding to say "page 4, clause 7.2" rather than just quoting text. For scanned documents, extraction quality depends on the scan. Blurry, skewed or low-contrast pages may produce errors; the Case Agent treats extracted text as evidence to be checked, not as fact, and findings based on poor scans are marked for review.
What is not processed
- Password-protected or encrypted files cannot be read. Remove the protection before uploading.
- Audio and video are not supported.
- Executable files and archives are not accepted.
Allowances
Document processing is counted in pages per month against your plan's allowance. Re-processing an existing document (for example after a new version) counts again.
