The LexSalim application is opening in stages and is not yet available for public sign-in. This article describes how the workspace is designed to work for early-access members; wording and screens may change before general release.
Documents are the raw material of every case. LexSalim stores them in a per-case vault: encrypted at rest, scanned on arrival and visible only to members of that case.
Steps
- Open the case and go to Documents.
- Choose Upload and select one or more files, or drag them onto the page.
- Optionally give each file a label (for example "Signed lease" or "March statement"). Labels appear in findings and references.
- Wait for processing. Each file shows its state: received, scanning, extracting text, ready, or rejected if the malware scan fails.
Once a file is ready, the Case Agent can read it and you can search its text.
What happens on arrival
- The file is checked for malware. Anything flagged is rejected and never stored in the vault.
- The file is encrypted and stored. Keys are managed by the service; documents are not end-to-end encrypted, because the service must decrypt them to process them.
- Text is extracted. Scanned pages and images go through optical character recognition so that page references are preserved.
- Nothing is sent to an AI model at upload. Analysis happens only when you ask for it.
Versions
Uploading a new file with the same label creates a new version. Earlier versions are kept and can be opened. Comparing two versions side by side is a planned capability and is not yet available.
Where documents can go
Documents belong to the case they were uploaded to. If two cases need the same document, upload it to both. There is no cross-case search today; it is planned and will respect case permissions when released.
Limits
Each plan includes an encrypted storage allowance and a document-processing allowance per month. The application shows your usage in Settings → Plan. See Plans and UK prices.
