A Case Agent is the AI assistant attached to a single case. It is not a general chatbot: it has access to the documents, timeline and description of its case, and nothing else.
What you can ask it to do
- Summarise a document or the whole case.
- Extract facts: dates, parties, amounts, obligations, deadlines, each with a page reference.
- Answer questions from the documents, for example "What notice period does the lease require?" The answer cites the pages it relied on.
- Build a chronology of events found in the documents, proposed to the timeline.
- Draft letters, notes, schedules and summaries for you to edit.
- In accounting cases, organise a period: group records, flag gaps and duplicates, prepare schedules.
How it runs
- You open the case and go to the Agent tab.
- You type a request or choose a suggested action.
- The agent reads the relevant documents in the case and produces its output. The run is recorded on the timeline with what was requested and which documents were used.
- The output appears as proposed findings, drafts or tasks in the review queue.
- You confirm, edit or reject each item. Confirmed items become part of the case record.
Analysis happens only on request. The agent does not run in the background, read new uploads on its own or send anything. Scheduled checks on a case are a planned capability and are disabled by policy until validated.
Source references
Every finding points to the page, clause or line it relied on. Open the reference to see the original text beside the finding. If the agent cannot support a statement from the documents, it says so rather than guessing, and the item is marked needs source check.
Limits
- It knows only its own case. There is no memory across cases, and nothing from one case informs another.
- It works from the documents you provide. If a document is missing or poorly scanned, its findings will reflect that.
- It is not a lawyer or an accountant and does not give advice. See What Case Agents never do.
Allowances
Each plan includes an allowance of AI analyses and Case Agent conversations per month. Usage is shown in Settings → Plan.

- Proposed and confirmed findingsEverything a Case Agent produces starts as a proposal. A member of the case confirms, edits or rejects it, and the timeline shows which findings are confirmed.
- What Case Agents never doA Case Agent does not advise, represent, send, file or decide. It does not see other cases, and it does not learn from your documents to help anyone else.
- What the AI can and cannot seeThe Case Agent sees only the case it belongs to, and only when you ask. Lana, the website assistant, sees only published help articles. Nothing is used to train models.
